Lying By Omission

It seems that the anti-gun movement and the people who support it including many of our government officials, as well as the main stream media, have used lying by omission for many years to advance their agenda.

First of all, using the term assault weapon to describe an AR-15 or and AK variant rifle is incorrect, and is used intentionally to conjure up fearful images of an assailant spilling blood in the streets by spraying people with fully automatic fire, creating these images for those who do not fully understand the differences. The AK’s sold in gun stores are merely a semi automatic variant that is not capable of select fire. Although they may look the same, they are very different in their capabilities.

The above referenced groups have been very effective at propagating this misconception, so well that even spokes people for Al Qaeda are now parroting this myth.

Let’s now take a look at another way this technique is further propagated rather than being dispelled by the so called experts in keeping Americans safe.

STATEMENTS OF MAYORS BLOOMBERG AND MENINO ON AL QAEDA VIDEO TOUTING EASY ACCESS TO FIREARMS IN THE UNITED STATES

Today, Al Qaeda issued a video message featuring Adam Gadahn, an American-born member of the terrorist group, urging followers to commit violent acts of jihad by exploiting weaknesses in U.S. gun laws and the gun background check system.
According to Gadahn, "America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms. You can go down to a gun show at the local convention center and come away with a fully automatic assault rifle without a background check and, most likely, without having to show an identification card. So what are you waiting for?"

When you read the follow up statements by Mayor Bloomberg and Mayor Menino, you will notice that neither one of them refutes the statement that anyone can buy a fully automatic assault rifle at a gun show. This is a perfect example of lying by omission, and allowing incorrect facts to be promoted because it works to help their organization's cause, which the end game is eventually disarming Americans by implementing one restriction at a time. It should be noted that even thought Mr Bloomberg would prefer that citizens are not armed, he has armed security 24 hours per day at the taxpayers expense. I am sure the readers may also be aware that Mayor Bloomberg’s group generated large numbers of form letters in an attempt skew the ATF review for a new federal long gun registry for over 6500 southern gun dealers. The form letters would have been better served, if they were sent to the ATF demanding the facts on the Gunwalker operation.

In the end, Bloomberg and friends appeal to the government to institute new regulations to restrict firearm ownership in the interest of national security. The founding fathers knew how to build a strong national security, and that was through an armed citizenry, which is what Bloomberg and friends are working hard to eliminate by using their special brand of deception.
