More Double Standards

It appears that there are two standards of justice in the Island territories under British law. One for the middle class man who does noble things to help America’s young male youth to achieve greater goals in their life, and another one for the wealthy American with political influence. As you know, the Bahamas are under British law, and therefore no guns or ammunition is allowed to be possessed on the Island by civilians.

Boy Scout Leader Jailed for Bullet in Fanny Pack

quote:

A Missouri man is home after spending four days in a jail in the Bahamas because airport security found a bullet in his fanny pack. Forty-eight-year-old Darrell Lapp returned Tuesday to Liberty after a scuba diving trip with a Boy Scout troop. His ordeal began last Friday when airport security in Freeport, Bahamas found a .32-caliber bullet inside his fanny pack. He was charged with possessing ammunition and sent to a jail in Nassau. Lapp says he thinks he left the bullet in his pack after a hunting trip.

Well, it could have been worse...he could have gotten caught with a hollow point in New Jersey...anyways, since Bermuda is also under British law, guns and ammo are also strictly forbidden there as well…that is of course, unless you are a wealthy and powerful American politician.

New York’s Mayor, but Bermuda Shares Custody

quote:

The mayor also takes along a police detail when he travels, flying two officers on his private plane and paying as much as $400 a night to put them up at a hotel near his house; the city pays their wages while they are there, as it does whether Mr. Bloomberg is New York or not. Guns are largely forbidden in Bermuda — even most police officers do not use them — but the mayor’s guards have special permission to carry weapons. A spokesman for the Police Department declined to comment.

It appears that the dual standard caste system is alive and well in territories where British law is practiced.
