Car bomb scares Times Square, but fails to explode

Investigators removed three propane tanks, fireworks, two filled 5-gallon gasoline containers, and two clocks with batteries, electrical wire and other components from the back of the Nissan Pathfinder, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. A black metal box resembling a gun locker was also recovered and will be detonated off site, he said.
Bloomberg called the explosive device "amateurish" and Kelly said the explosives were consumer-grade fireworks but could have caused huge damage on a block of Broadway theaters and restaurants teeming with tourists.
News flash Mr Bloomberg. Then IED's and fertilizer/fuel oil bombs are a bit "amateurish" as well according to your definition. Gun Shy wonders since when did Mr Bloomberg become an explosives expert? In case the readers are not aware, this device appears to be a form of a Gas Charged Explosive which is done to enhance the yield of a standard explosive compound. Maybe instead of Mr Bloomberg heading the organization "mayors against illegal guns", an organization that is merely a front to disarm everyone, why doesn't he head up an organization called "mayors against terrorists".
