The Ammo Problem is More Far Reaching Than We First Suspected

Gun Shy was out and about today in search of ammo, and by chance, I was introduced to a man who works for a firearms manufacturer. It turns out that he was in search of ammo as well. I asked him why he didn’t just purchase ammo direct from the manufacturers, and he informed me that their company has to buy their ammo retail just like every other gun owner in America. Next I posed the big question. “Are you having a hard time meeting your manufacturing quotas because of the high demand for firearms?” His reply was that they have no problem constructing the firearms in a timely fashion. The problem is, that due to the ammo shortage nation wide, it is hard to get rounds to test fire the newly built firearms so that they can be safety tested and approved, which is a mandatory requirement before they can be shipped to the dealers. The bottom line is that the ammo shortage is putting the delivery date of the newly built firearms to the dealers behind schedule considerably. I have personally noticed that some pistols have been in short supply, and some unscrupulous dealers (pistol pimps) have been taking advantage of this shortage and bumping up the price an additional $100.00 or so per gun. I have also noticed that since the buying frenzy began, all of the gun whores have come out of the woodwork, and have been using this situation to gouge the buyers on many other items that are firearms related including ammo. When this situation gets straightened out, I hope the buyers will remember the people that took advantage of them, and reward those establishments by taking their business elsewhere to the dealers who took care of the customers, and tell everyone they know to do the same.
