Mayor Michael Bloomberg didn’t waste time talking about the subways, “which we know terrorists regard as what they would call high value targets.”

Out of one side of his mouth, Noo Yawk City Mayor Bloomberg acts concerned about terrorism, but out of the other side of his mouth he is supporting the 911 mosque, that many say has questionable ties and funding. Here is his statement:

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said it would be unAmerican to investigate the mosque that is planned for construction near where the World Trade Center once stood.

So let me get this straight. What Mayor Bloomberg is saying, is that it would be “un American" to investigate if the mosque has funding or ties to any terrorist organizations?

This is not the first time that Mayor Bloomberg has won Gun Shy's "thou hypocrite" award, and you can read about it in my earlier commentary here.

I Am Really Enjoying My Job

I have been assigned to a position where I am working daily with exemplary Americans. They are men of courage, men of valor, men who represent the true embodiment of the Warrior Spirit. These men took an oath, and without hesitation would march right up to the gates of hell shaking their clenched fists in defiance, and then breach those gates to gain entry if that was the course of action needed to achieve the objective and uphold that oath. They have gone to the edge, stared death in the face, and grinned as they grabbed it by the throat, put it under control, and then forcefully bitch slapped it to the ground. These men are quiet professionals whose collective experience spans more than four decades, from Vietnam to some of the most recent conflicts abroad, and have dedicated a large part of their lives to service and to the protection of our great nation. They are White, Black, Hispanic, and Asian, who have all been unified by the common goal of preserving and protecting the lives and freedoms of every American. When I interact with these men in discussions, their world view is based on the fact that they have been there, done that, and lived to tell about it, and not on some politically correct pie in the sky progressive opinion piece that they heard on left leaning Public Radio (NPR) or learned in the classroom of some liberal university as many Americans do. I have had the good fortune of knowing men like these since my earliest years and throughout my life, because I was raised by a man who was just like these men, as well as having association with others who were my instructors and mentors through the many twists and turns of my own personal training experiences. I am here to report that it is a privilege to be interacting with this caliber of consummate professionals once again.

Gun Shy salutes these exemplary men, and it is my opinion that every American who enjoys our way of life and loves the freedom that has been afforded to us through the commitment and sacrifice of men like these should salute them and thank them as well...and let us never forget this:

North Carolina...You Just Can't Fix Stupid

Yep I said it...about the State of my ancestors where I still have family. The Governor didn't get the clue the last time this happened and now they are doing it again. What they need is a class action lawsuit by all the people who paid money for a concealed carry permit. If they get enough people attempting to back charge the state for the days they were not allowed to carry, maybe that would send a message, because they obviously do not care about the Constitution.

Signs in Arizona warn of smuggler dangers - Drivers advised to travel north

The federal government has posted signs along a major interstate highway in Arizona, more than 100 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, warning travelers the area is unsafe because of drug and alien smugglers, and a local sheriff says Mexican drug cartels now control some parts of the state.

The signs were posted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) along a 60-mile stretch of Interstate 8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend, a major east-west corridor linking Tucson and Phoenix with San Diego.

They warn travelers that they are entering an "active drug and human smuggling area" and they may encounter "armed criminals and smuggling vehicles traveling at high rates of speed." Beginning less than 50 miles south of Phoenix, the signs encourage travelers to "use public lands north of Interstate 8" and to call 911 if they "see suspicious activity."...

..."Mexican drug cartels literally do control parts of Arizona," he said. "They literally have scouts on the high points in the mountains and in the hills and they literally control movement. They have radios, they have optics, they have night-vision goggles as good as anything law enforcement has.

"This is going on here in Arizona," he said. "This is 70 to 80 miles from the border - 30 miles from the fifth-largest city in the United States."

As i stated in the title....it's time to break out the napalm.

Why I Enjoy Virginia and West Virginia

I have been spending a lot of time in Virginia and West Virginia since I took a break from blogging. One of my reasons for liking these areas, is because they are gun friendly states that recognize the law abiding citizen's right to self defense. In Virginia, if you want to ride down the road on your motorcycle with a firearm openly exposed on your hip, it is perfectly legal to do so. If we are ever invaded by foreign nationals from the air, I only hope that they drop their para troopers into the mountains of West Virginia, because the local boys with their scoped Win Mag 300's will be taking care of that little problem rather quickly. My next reason, is the beauty that both of these states have in the look of their natural terrain which is wondrous. When John Denver wrote his song about West Virginia it didn't even begin to describe the beauty. Last but not least of course, is the people. Yes, there are parts of Virginia near the beltway where people are a bit rude, but for the most part Virginians and West Virginians are polite, friendly, and very patriotic people. There is nothing like driving through the rolling hills of West Virginia, and then coming into a little town with American flags adorning the houses along the main street. This is not just for holidays, but an every day thing that they do. When you go into the local corner store, people treat you in a friendly down home manner...they way it used to be, and one of the many things I miss in many areas of America these days. Yeah....I like Virginia and West Virginia, and this is a shout out to all of the patriotic and friendly people living in those wonderful states. Gun Shy salutes you!
