Obama: No Arming of U.S. Agents in Mexico

President Obama on Thursday appeared to reject the idea of arming U.S. agents in Mexico, saying after a meeting with Mexican President Felipe Calderon that the two governments will look at other ways to protect American officials in the wake of a fatal shooting last month.

"There are laws in place in Mexico that say that our agents should not be armed," Obama said, describing the U.S. role south of the border as an "advisory" one. "We do not carry out law enforcement activities inside of Mexico."

And what are those other ways may I ask, and how well did those other ways work for our dead agents?

Gun Shy has a better, more realistic idea. Issue the contract for border protection to Blackwater or Triple Canopy and watch how fast all of this could come into perspective. But of course, Mexico would be offended, and we can't have that, so let's just buy more body bags for our agents while political correctness paralyzes our ability to resolve this threat to Americans.

Is their anyone in the current administration that knows what keeping an oath means?
