All this week we have been hearing about the star studded “We Are the World” video to help raise money for the people of Haiti because hard times have fallen on that nation. Now I will agree that the people of Haiti need help, but when are we going to have a “We Are the World” to help jobless, homeless Americans that have been forced to live in their vans, sleep under bridges with their kids, or live in tent cities that are springing up all over the country like wildfire since the housing bubble burst? I know that some of the readers are thinking that Gun Shy is getting a bit extreme, so I challenge you all to take some time and watch the videos that I have linked to below, and then let me know what you think. I once heard it said, that we are all one paycheck away from being homeless, and that is something that we all need to seriously consider during these tough financial times.

So do we throw a concert filled with stars to raise money for these less fortunate people? Take a look at how it is handled in some cities:
