They Really Do Not Care About the Replica Guns...

...what they really want to suppress is the realistic training.

In the UK they now have the reduction in violent crimes act which dictates that you must have a license to own realistic looking replica weapons. This means that in order to own airsoft guns or blank firing replicas, you have to be an airsoft player (minimum of 6 games) or a member of an amateur dramatics club in order to own such dangerous weapons. And you all probably remember what Germany did after there was a schoolyard shooting there.

Germany to ban paintball after massacre

quote:

Under legislation agreed by the ruling coalition of the chancellor, Angela Merkel, using air rifles to shoot paint-filled pellets at opponents is likely to be made illegal, and would be punishable with fines of up to €5,000 (£4,480).

It appears that airsoft is already illegal in the home of Bill Clinton, Arkansas

Using good quality green gas airsoft pistols, a person can achieve weapons proficiency to about 85-95% of what they would experience using live ammo in a real firearm. One of the major differences being recoil and reacquisition of the next target. Airsoft training is considerably cheaper than firing live ammo which is far more costly. Many police agencies are now using airsoft to train their officers in tactical scenarios that mimic real life combat situations.
