HB 1209 titled Application of Foreign Laws in Certain Cases is Moving Forward in Florida

quote:

The Honorable Representative Larry Metz has championed HB 1209 titled Application of Foreign Laws in Certain Cases through all of the Florida House of Representative committees. If enacted, HB 1209 would prohibit certain provisions of foreign laws including Sharia law from being considered by Florida courts if they do not afford the same liberties, rights and privileges guaranteed by the Florida and US Constitution. Thanks to Representative Larry Metz’s outstanding leadership and determination HB 1209 was approved by the full House of Representatives on March 1, 2012 to approve HB 1209 with a bi-partisan vote of 92-24.

Gun Shy believes that there is only room for Constitutional Law in the American courts. If someone wants to settle a dispute by a different means, then they should do it among themselves.
