This is Obama's Vision for America

Venezuela Suspends Gun Imports for a Year

quote:

CARACAS – Venezuelan authorities have established a moratorium on importing guns for sale to the general public, while banning the marketing of munitions and all other armaments in an attempt to “put order” in that sector and exercise some control over the nation’s widespread violence.

Now for the interesting twist. The Russian government has recently licensed an AK manufacturing facility in Venezuela, as well as an ammunition manufacturing facility.

A quote from another commentary about the weapons manufacturing facity found here:

I do wonder why the construction of a massive industrial complex, employing 1,500 people, can be justified to supply a country with a population just 25% greater than that of the NYC metro area. So the question on my mind is who do they plan on exporting to? ... and how long before these rifles turn up on the Mexican/US border?

No need to worry about the U.S. Mexican border. It seems that our own agencies have the supply route to that area covered with the various gunwalker programs.

Back to the original article with this quote:

Fernandez said the measure will allow greater protection for the safety of private citizens, which, he said, “has been degenerating into a state of chaos.”

The suspension of imports is accompanied by other measures, such as “a national process for legalizing the possession of arms,” which will take three months and will serve to register people “with arms acquired legally but without having their papers in order.”

Also contemplated is a control mechanism for arms and munitions that permits their origin to be tracked.

Interior and Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami later told a press conference that the marketing of arms and munitions is also suspended.

“This is not just about imports but also about local gunsmiths, who will no longer be allowed to sell firearms,” the minister told a press conference, adding that “no one is allowed to sell munitions.”

Sound familiar? Instead of enforcing the law on the criminal element, just disarm everybody instead. In the end it is not about the guns, it is about the control, and this is a global agenda. The second amendment is what separates America from other nations. Armed citizens have a vote. If you look at the history of the nations where the governments wanted total control, the first thing they did was disarm the people. Next was the slaughter of the innocents. It's not my opinion...it is history. Read it.
