A new federal law called the Real ID Act requires drivers to provide the state various official documents so that those documents can be scanned and stored in a nationwide database. Officials said, within the next seven years, everyone in the US will be required to have a star compliant license or passport, otherwise they won't be able to board a plane.

“Your regular drivers license, in the future, will not allow you to have access to air travel,” Osceola County Tax Collector Patsy Heffner said.
