Gun Shy Told You So (helmet cam)

In an earlier commentary, I discussed the supposedly missing 25 minutes of the SEAL operation.

Now we have this startling new revelation:

SEAL helmet cams recorded entire bin Laden raid - More accurate version of what happened includes details that bin Laden first emerged on third floor, retreated to bedroom after shot fired

quote:

WASHINGTON - A new picture emerged Thursday of what really happened the night the Navy SEALs swooped in on Osama bin Laden's compound in Pakistan. CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reports the 40 minutes it took to kill bin Laden and scoop his archives into garbage bags were all recorded by tiny helmet cameras worn by each of the 25 SEALs.

Either they were multi-plexing the video feeds up (technically difficult), or this means that each helmet cam had its own digital recorder on board. Gun Shy thinks possibly a bit of both for the sake of video/audio redundancy, but no one really knows for sure.

I am sure that the genius strategists over at JSOC were cringing when the statement about the supposedly missing footage was initially made to the public, because these guys are too thorough to let that happen on their watch.
