You Can't Even Play Mini Golf With Your Family in O-Town

While Orlando politicians are rewarding themselves with free box seat tickets to Magic games for a job well done, the town is showing multiple signs of being in rapid decline. Check out this news release about the new mini golf place that just opened up on the East side of town, just down the street from the UCF campus. I drove by there the other day and it was full of families with their kids playing miniature golf.

Drive By Shooting Rocks Mini Golf Course

quote:

A miniature golf course turned into a crime scene during a drive by shooting Sunday morning. Orange County deputies say someone opened fire at Congo River Golf" on Colonial Drive, just east of Alafaya Trail. It's not clear what led to the shooting, but no one was hurt. Eyewitnesses described the suspect vehicle as a silver Chevy Venture with a crack in the front windshield.

For the readers who are not familiar, this business is located in what is viewed as a nice area of town. I discussed how the crime demographics in Orlando has shifted in earlier commentaries such as this one. I also touched on the problem in this commentary.

So the next time you go to take you children to play some mini golf and see the alligators that they have at the establishment that was shot up, make sure you bring some hardware and set up perimeter security for your families safety, or a better idea might be to fire the current elected officials and get someone new in office that is a little more focused on the areas problems instead of their own entertainment.

Side Note:
If you live in Orlando and do not possess a concealed carry permit, it might be a good idea to get one. Of course with all of the efficiency going on in this State, it will now take you up to six months to get one. (it used to take ninety days maximum).
