Gun Shy Has a Question...

I need a little help from the readers here. When law enforcement asks to see a persons identification during a police investigation in order to verify that they are in America legally, that is a violation of human rights that creates an international firestorm, but using back scatter x-rays or taking millimeter wave photos of peoples private parts and frisking people under their clothes (up skirts, inside waistbands, around bras) with absolutely no consent under penalty of a government orchestrated civil suit with fines up to $11000 is totally acceptable?

Offshoot question:

I wonder if the TSA employees have to go through a background check that includes a sexual predators data base search, because this would be a dream job for pedophiles and same sex abusers. Ponder the possibility of the government paying people handsomely to get their jollies while feeling up you and worse yet, your children.

If this was all done under a Republican administration, the same people who are currently perfectly fine with the pervi-scan and the gropefest would be screaming bloody murder about rights violations. I am still wondering where the hell the ACLU is at on this one. Sadly though, the opposite is also true, many of the people who are currently protesting would accept this from a Republican administration. The hypocracy of the American people bothers me.
