Bad News For the Socialists...Good News for Floridians
Obie's new theme song should be Another One Bites the Dust. Virginia and now Florida. I feel a domino effect coming on in the south.
Judge strikes down healthcare reform law
quote:
A federal judge in Florida struck down President Barack Obama's landmark healthcare overhaul as unconstitutional on Monday, in the biggest legal challenge yet to federal authority to enact the law.
U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson, appointed to the bench by Republican President Ronald Reagan, ruled that the reform law's so-called individual mandate went too far in requiring that Americans start buying health insurance in 2014 or pay a penalty.
"Because the individual mandate is unconstitutional and not severable, the entire act must be declared void. This has been a difficult decision to reach, and I am aware that it will have indeterminable implications," Vinson wrote.

The 'tacticool" Trend is Sweeping the Nation
Occasionally, Gun Shy frequents gun stores when traveling. Every once in a while, you can find a good deal on a firearm depending on what region of the country you are in. Of course, when you visit a store that is attempting to be tacticool, you run into some extremely interesting gun owners, because there is a certain obsession these days with the general public having to own everything tactical even if they will never have a need for it in their job selling shoes at the local mall or working in the food court. As I wrote in an earlier commentary, if I never hear the term tactical again, it will be too soon.
I find this new trend to be almost as annoying as going into music stores no matter where you are in the country, and hearing some guy torturing a guitar at a high decibel level through a 100 watt Marshall double stack as he butchers Smoke on the Water or Stairway to Heaven beyond recognition.
Lately, I have noticed the trend towards what are known as Jedi Guns. These are black rifles with every possible ancillary device hanging off the rails, to the point where someone would need biceps like Popeye to even get the muzzle to move in an upward motion due to the excessive swing weight they have accrued. When you talk to these Jedi Gun owners, I am amazed at all of the disinformation that they have gathered from gun forums, which in turn suckered them into spending countless thousands on a rifle that they could have built for a third of the price that would have been more practical for their needs. Often times I will ask a question about why they need a huge bazillion lumen light on their rifle that is bright enough to illuminate an airstrip, and that is usually when they start to blather on about killing the zombies. Of course, this is when my eyes immediately start to get glassy, because in reality these are the only Zombies that I am remotely interested in. Below are some links to videos that pretty much sum it up. I am sure many of the experienced readers will find them funny and get all of the the inside humor. There is a bit of harsh language, but the comedy value far outweighs the damage that you will suffer to your virgin ears.

The Possible 'next' Headline
here is the latest headline from the anti gun crowd:
Chris Matthews: Obama will Address, try to Increase Gun Control in the Near Future
quote:
After the national tragedy in Arizona earlier this month, it is no surprise that President Obama would use it as political fodder. According to MSNBC commentator Chris Matthews, who had recently had lunch with the President, "there's going to be a special Presidential address on gun control" in the "near future."
Below is a possibility for a future headline:
American People: We will Address, and decrease Obama's already plummeting popularity and re-election bid for the Near Future (2012)

Could This be the Early Signs of Virginia Schools Spiraling Down the Gurgler??
Virginia for the most part is a great state with very good gun laws. I have noticed a trend in all of the southern states, of people moving down from other parts up north, and then trying to create a government that looks like the one they left in their former state, which is typically anti anything that has to do with a weapon.
Zero tolerance 'insane madness' in Virginia high school - Honor roll student expelled for shooting 'what amounts to a spit wad'
quote:
Spotsylvania, Va., high school freshman Andrew Mikel has been suspended for the school year and has been placed in a "diversion program" by police for blowing soft plastic pellets through a pen at three classmates...
..."In early December, my son shot what amounts to a spitwad. They classified the spit wad as a weapon, expelled my son from school the rest of the year, filed assault charges on him with the sheriff's department, mandated that he take 'substance-abuse counseling' and 'anger-management counseling' and must do 24 hours of community service."
...Andrew, an honor student active in Junior ROTC and in his church, has never been in any trouble before, said his father. "He had hoped to go to [the U.S. Naval Academy], but he's been told his chances of Annapolis were gone because of this. We are talking with Virginia Military Institute still."

Black Widow attempted New Year Moscow attack but blew herself up by mistake

The fact that the homicide bomber was technologically challenged help to save many innocent lives.

Coincidence???
The internet is a way for people to reach out past the controlled media, and disseminate free ideas, or in case of civil unrest, get their story told to the rest of the world. Those who do not want that story told, and want to frame the dialogue that the world sees are seeking the control of the internet, hence the flow of information. Here is something for the readers consideration:

Proof Positive of the Allegations…
…that Mexican nationals from the cartels are smuggling middle east radicals into the U.S. through Mexico illegally. Isn’t it great that soon, Mexican trucks will be allowed to pass unrestricted across the border into the U.S. daily?
Controversial Muslim cleric caught being smuggled into U.S. over Mexico border
quote:
U.S. border guards got a surprise when they searched a Mexican BMW and found a hardline Muslim cleric - banned from France and Canada - curled up in the boot. Said Jaziri, who called for the death of a Danish cartoonist that drew pictures of the prophet Mohammed, was being smuggled into California when he was arrested, along with his driver Kenneth Robert Lawler…
…Jaziri had allegedly paid a Tijuana-based smuggling cartel $5,000 to take him across the border near Tecate, saying he wanted to be taken to a 'safe place anywhere in the U.S.'
If you need a little more proof that something big is brewing, then read this:

Now is the Time to Toughen Up America
I was thinking today about the details that transpired during the take over of the planes on 911. I am not trying to sound like some cyber tough guy, or trying to be an armchair general after the fact, but if a couple of guys with box cutters tried to commandeer an airplane with me and a few of my associates on board, it probably would been a very bad day for the terrorists. My family has about seven generations invested in this piece of land known as America, and so I believe that any actions taken against myself or my fellow Americans by any terrorist from any nation should be extremely prejudiced in nature. There are numerous items on a commercial airplane that could become an improvised weapon in a matter of seconds, so I am perplexed why no one thought to act against them in light of the fact that the terrorist were largely outnumbered to begin with. To give an example, the stainless steel drink cart that they push up and down the isles to deliver your soft drink would make an excellent shield and also a striking object by using the corners to deliver blunt force impact. Hitting someone in the head with a full 32 oz bottle of soda would surely land them in a neck brace when they finally awoke from their unconsciousness with cloudy vision. A reading magazine that is rolled up tightly can fracture bones, as well as render someone unconscious. It is my opinion, that most Americans have errantly subscribed to the notion that someone else will protect them, and therefore they are frightened to do anything themselves. If they do decide, combat concepts is so far removed from their daily thoughts that they would probably have a hard time formulating a plan. It is time for Americans to toughen up, or as the pressure increases from the terrorists, which I believe it most definitely will, you will witness the majority of American society helplessly cowering in a corner paralyzed by fear waiting for someone to save them. As I have said in past commentaries, “The Cavalry isn’t coming, and if they eventually do arrive, it will most likely be delayed due to human error, weather, mis-communication, logistical, mechanical and or technical problems”.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
Watch this video about Obie's state of the union speech and laugh.
Here is the best part in text from Sarah Palin:
“Well, speaking of last night, that was a tough speech to sit through and try to stomach because the president is so off base in his ideas in how it is he believes government is going to create jobs. Obviously, government growth won’t create any jobs. It’s the private sector that can create the jobs. His theme last night in the State of the Union was the WTF, you know, “Winning the Future,” and I thought OK, that acronym, spot on. There were a lot of WTF moments throughout that speech.”
Hannity weighed in as well.
I am not sure why all the people kept applauding everything he said. As unfocused as the speech was with a few crowd pleasing hit points, does anyone really believe that he wrote that speech? When you take the time to critically analyze the situation, Obie is an empty suit that reads a teleprompter really well.

Why is the F-35 So Important to America’s Defense in Such a Time as This?
I can answer that question in one brief answer, which is simply air superiority. Air superiority is something that America has enjoyed during every conflict we have been engaged in since World War 2. Now while the world’s superpowers such as China and Russia, as well as other nations are attempting to build up their high tech air arsenals at break neck speed, we are cutting defense budgets that directly affect our combat readiness and war fighting capabilities. These other nations obviously realize that the world has become an extremely dangerous place, so why are we taking our Gen 5 fighter and putting it into mothballs? Let’s take a moment to examine one of the many plausible scenarios as an example of what could occur on the battle field.
The Commanders decide to send a twelve man Special Operations team into a known hot spot to do some recon. Things are going fine, but then suddenly the team is accidentally discovered, and a large number of enemy soldiers come out of the woodwork and start to engage the team and pin them down while attempting to over run them. Unfortunately for the team, the enemy has also closed off the retreat. What you now have is a small efficient group of elite soldiers with a limited amount of ammo, trying to hold off a large number of enemy combatants with virtually unlimited ammo and supplies. Time now becomes of the essence in this situation, because it is just a matter of time before the team will be overrun and all members killed. Fortunately for the team, one of the members is an Air Force Combat Controller. A Combat Controller, or CCT is part air traffic controller, and part Elijah, as he can call down fire from the heavens above simply by directing the pilots who have been called in by him to deliver the ordnance. The CCT gives the pilots the co-ordinance of the enemy’s location, and then the planes fly by at a high rate of speed raining down a metal storm directly onto the enemy’s location from above. Sometimes an aggressive fast approaching enemy can get dangerously close to the team, and the Combat Controller may have no other option but to call in a strike close to the team as their last option. As many of the readers know, friendly fire is not really all that friendly, so in a case like this, you need a plane that is fast, agile, and maneuverable that can carry a formidable payload while still being surgical in its application. This is a situation when you would look up at the sky as you are digging in to take cover, and be thanking God when you see the F-35’s as they come screaming in to give you the air support needed to save you and your team from imminent destruction at the enemy's hands. The parameters of the above scenario could be changed with a larger number of American troops being involved, but the method to resolve the issue would still be the same. The bottom line, is that when you posess air superiority, you control the battle space environment.
So the readers might be wondering what makes the F-35 so much better than our existing fighter planes? When you compare the F-35 against our existing planes with the exception of the F-22, there really is no contest, because the F-35 has better flight performance, and better weapon loads with a larger ordnance payload. The internal weapons bays add to its superior lessened operational drag and greater stealth. The F-35 also has a greater range along with its drastically reduced radar signature, and the sensors and situational awareness systems on the F-35 are like something out of star wars. The F-35 is also extremely flexible. It can take advantage of its near mach 2 speed and stealth to deliver internally carried 2000-pound bombs against command and control targets, then once the targets are knocked out and stealth is no longer necessary, ground crews can load the F-35 with a variety of missiles and ordnance. The bottom line is that for any mission under any threat environment no matter what the range, the F-35 will be significantly more effective than the majority of our existing planes. So if the F-35 is so cutting edge then why is this project being put on hold is a question that you might be asking yourself? Could it be because of the so called high price tag that we keep hearing about in order to justify the budget cuts? That and many other questions will be answered in the next few installments.

Erik Prince and BlackWater Back in the News
Blackwater Founder Said to Back Mercenaries
WASHINGTON — Erik Prince, the founder of the international security giant Blackwater Worldwide, is backing an effort by a controversial South African mercenary firm to insert itself into Somalia’s bloody civil war by protecting government leaders, training Somali troops, and battling pirates and Islamic militants there, according to American and Western officials…
…With its barely functional government and a fierce hostility to foreign armies since the hasty American withdrawal from Mogadishu in the early 1990s, Somalia is a country where Western militaries have long feared to tread. The Somali government has been cornered in a small patch of Mogadishu by the Shabab, a Somali militant group with ties to Al Qaeda.
Hey Erik. If you happen to be reading, you might not want to rush and send all of your military assets to Somalia quite yet to fight al shabab, because at the rate things are going here in America, it shouldn't be too long before a large number of al shabab members are residing here in the U.S.

How to Effectively Deal With Somali Pirates
Risky South Korean raid saves ship's crew from pirates
quote:
SEOUL (AP) — At dawn, South Korean special forces packed into a small boat approached a hijacked freighter in the Arabian Sea. Commandos scrambled up a ladder onto the ship, aboard which Somali pirates were armed with AK assault rifles and anti-tank missiles. A South Korean destroyer and hovering Lynx helicopter provided covering fire.
When Friday's operation ended five hours later, 21 hostages had been rescued, eight Somali pirates killed and five assailants captured. Pockmarks from artillery fire blanketed the ship's bridge. One of the hostages was wounded, but all were alive — a remarkable ending for a risky rescue.

Proposal Would Allow Guns On Campus - Controversial Bill Opposed By Some College Police Departments
quote:
State Sen. Greg Evers, R-Crestview, filed the bill that changes a law that bans guns on all school campuses. If the bill passes, licensed gun owners would be able to carry a gun from public property to any college campus.
It has been demonstrated time and time again, that gun free zones make convenient killing fields for active shooters. A law enforcement officer commented on an earlier post, where he stated that he was not in favor of open carry. I understand his position, and would never consider open carry myself because it removes the element of surprise, and someone could waltz up from behind, stick a gun in your ribs and then take your wallet AND your gun. However, I do not like politicians thinking that they should be able to take away a right that Floridians once had, especially when that politician is Janet Reno. Here is an excerpt of some other statements that he made:
That being said, concealed weapon permit holders should be able to carry anywhere they want - bars, schools, police stations, polling stations, school board meetings, and at work.
One last thing...
As a former homicide detective and SWAT team leader I have studied and trained for these types of "active shooter" incidents.
Banning high-capacity magazines will do noting to stop these types of incidents. Most active shooters will simply bring more than one gun.
There is a well know saying in the shooting world, "The fastest reload is another gun." The shooters at Columbine, the shooter at the CA McDonald's and at Virginia Tech, and a few other all had more than one gun.
Banning high capacity magazines will do NOTHING but prevent law abiding citizens who have concealed weapons permits from fighting on a level playing field.
This LEO makes a lot of good solid points, and Gun Shy wants to thank him for reading and commenting. As the readers know, Gun Shy is pro Law Enforcement as long as the officers stay mindful of their oath, and their conduct exhibits their desire to truly serve and protect. A good LEO is definitely part of the solution, and they deserve respect for putting their butt on the line daily.

Canadian tourist accuses Mexican police of raping her - Police deny reports woman beaten, repeatedly raped, robbed
quote:
A Canadian woman alleges that Mexican police gang-raped her in jail after she and her fiancé were arrested while on vacation in Mexico for New Year's Eve, CBC News has learned.
Rebecca Rutland, 41, says police in the Mexican resort town of Playa del Carmen took the Ontario couple into custody in the late hours of Dec. 31 following a confrontation between officers and her fiancé.
Once in jail, Rutland, a social worker doing her thesis in Thunder Bay, Ont., says two police officers took turns raping her. Rutland and her fiancé, Richard Coleman, 51, of Toronto, also allege officers robbed them of hundreds of dollars and other valuables.
Here it is in Micky O's own words.

DC murder rate is a shell game
quote:
In a one on one interview with Fox 5 Monday, DC Police Chief Cathy Lanier said it all has to do with focusing on a small group of violent offenders and working closely with the community.
“The first is focusing on those repeat violent gun offenders,” said Chief Cathy Lanier in an interview in her office Monday. “It’s a small number of people who consistently carry guns and engage in repeat violent gun offenses. If you can focus on those people and get them off the street that is the number one key ingredient.”
Blah-blah-f***ing-blah. All they did was push the criminals across the state line to Prince George’s County, Maryland. In fact murder, rates went up in every county that touches the District in Maryland and Virginia.

Schumer Pushes for Military to Report Applicants' Drug Use to Prevent Gun Purchases
quote:
Schumer said if military recruiters or other officials report admissions of drug use to a national database, those individuals could be denied a gun.
Translated, that means if someone had made a mistake in their youth and experimented with an illegal drug, that thirty years later when they were a productive law abiding citizen, they would be denied the right to own a firearm for personal protection. That would then preclude former president Bill Clinton and current president Barack Obama and most of his administration from ever owning a firearm by their own admission. Great idea Chucky.
The issue of limiting Second Amendment rights has exploded in the wake of the Arizona shooting as lawmakers and officials discuss whether increased curbs should be put on gun ownership.
Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell said Sunday that a citizen protecting his home or hunting doesn't need a gun with 33 bullets per clip.
"I think the nation's spirits would be lifted if the Congress acted quickly with the president and reinstated the assault weapons ban which also had the ban on these large magazines, these clips that carried 30-plus bullets," he said.
Hey Ed...why don't you focus on the massive violent crime problem you have in Philadelphia, before you try to "fix" the rest of America.
Since the gun banners are into speculating on what could have happened, let me take the liberty to do so as well. If all of the law abiding citizens had been armed, the beautiful little nine year old girl might still be alive, and Loughner would have been shot dead before he got on a roll.

Yes...Florida IS on the Cutting Edge...
...when it comes to firearms freedoms, and concealed carry of all weapons as well.
Gun Shy can pretty much conceal carry anything I like when in the State of Florida. When I leave the state or country, everything changes in respect to what I can carry. It appears that Florida is looking to take the next step in firearms freedoms, a freedom that Floridians once had until the notorious Janet Reno made it illegal. Isn't it great, that while other states such as New York are trying to further restrict firearms freedoms even more than they already have in the wake of the Arizona shooting, Florida is looking to expand them back to their original status. In your face Janet "waco" Reno.
In wake of Arizona shooting rampage, Florida gun bill proposes 'open carry'
quote:
After the shooting that wounded U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and killed six people in Arizona, some federal and state officials are calling for stricter gun laws, especially control of automatic weapons and super-sized ammunition clips. But in Florida the tide is turning in the other direction, toward greater freedom for gun owners.
Senate Bill 234, filed in Tallahassee in December, would make the "open carry" of firearms legal in Florida for the first time in decades. Under legislation presented by Sen. Greg Evers, R-Crestview, people with concealed weapons permits could wear handguns on their hips in public view.
Evers said people with permits to carry concealed firearms have sometimes been cited by law enforcement agents when a gun inadvertently becomes visible.
"A gust of wind makes a suit coat flap open and the person is in trouble," Evers said. Or an air conditioner breaks, and a person removes a jacket and exposes a firearm.
He said the purpose of his bill is to end such instances, and he expects most licensed gun carriers will continue to conceal their weapons.
But he also said he is not averse to more people displaying their firearms.
"Do I think that will deter crime?" he asked. "Absolutely."

A 'tribute" to Noo Yawk's Carolyn McCarthy
In case the readers missed who Carolyn McCarthy is, she is the know nothing wannabe gun banning representative from New York. I wrote briefly about her here. Gun Shy lived and worked in New York on a few occasions, and it is people like her, little Chucky Shumer, and mayor Bloomberg, that have made it so I never want to go back there again for any reason.
The readers know how much Gun Shy likes lefty liberal 'democrat' gun banners who want to rewrite the Constitution and the bill of rights, so I figured it was time post a 'tribute' video especially for her. If you are reading Carolyn, it would be good if you first learned something about firearms before opening your yap in a feeble attempt to educate the general public on their dangers. TSA...Such a Class Act
TSA Pays Off In Breast Exposure Suit
quote:
The 24-year-old Murley alleged that after being “singled out for extended search procedures,” a TSA agent frisked her and “pulled Plaintiff’s blouse completely down, exposing Plaintiff’s breasts to everyone in the area.” Her complaint noted that, “as would be expected,” Murley was “extremely embarrassed and humiliated.”
Murley charged that TSA employees “joked and laughed about the incident for an extended period of time.” After leaving the security line to be “consoled by an acquaintance who had brought her to the airport,” Murley returned to the line, where a male TSA worker said that he had wished he was there when she first passed through. The employee, Murley recalled, added that “he would just have to watch the video.”

It is Impossible to Get a Concealed Carry Permit in Maryland...
...and they will not recognize valid permits issued by other states. Take a look at how disarming law abiding citizens has helped to eliminate crime there:
Feds to help investigate P.G. killings
quote:
Federal agents are embedding with homicide investigators in Prince George's County starting this week in a rare move as authorities scramble to react to a string of 13 killings that have occurred already in 2011.
"It is very unusual for us to bring in agents and embed them in our homicide division," said police spokesman Maj. Andy Ellis. "I can't remember us doing that since probably the mid-to-late '90s."
The county has been rocked by news of a homicide spike since New Year's Day. The county's 13 killings exceed the 12 U.S. military deaths that have occurred this year in Afghanistan as of Friday morning.
Yep. Just like in England, Canada, and Australia. Ban guns and the law abiding citizens right to self defense, and then watch the murder rate soar.

First it Was REAL Defensive Handguns...
...and now they are restricting harmless airsoft pistols.

AIRSOFT GUN CITY AND STATE RESTRICTIONS - Due to city and state restrictions, we will not ship airsoft guns to the following locations
New York City - All five Boroughs
Washington DC
Philidelphia
Chicago
New Jersey
Gun Shy has a question. Why do people continue living in these freedom restricting areas of the country? Oh look...maybe they aren't...and have decided to move to other states that do not restrict their freedoms.
quote:

Texas gained 4 seats. Other gainers include Nevada, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Utah and Washington.

Another anti gun goober blaming an inanimate object made of steel for perpetrating evil. She needs to first of all, learn more about guns before she tries to lecture the public about the dangers of them, and then she needs to learn that it is evil people, and not inanimate objects that cause the chaos.
Carolyn McCarthy bill tougher than Clinton-era law
quote:
Rep. Carolyn McCarthy’s (D-N.Y.) bill also goes further than than the assault weapon ban that expired in 2004, outlawing the sale or transfer of clips that hold more than ten rounds, even those obtained before the law takes effect, according to a copy of the bill obtained by POLITICO.
The bill closes a loophole in the expired assault weapon ban that let gun owners buy high-capacity magazines made before the ban took effect in 1994.
The bill carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
Shades of New Jersey, where a person can be sentenced to jail for having one hollow point bullet in their possession without even having a handgun to fire it in.

Paradoxical Thought for Today
Take a moment to ponder the surreal hypocrisy, that this administration will soon be demanding that every citizen will be required to prove that they are insured, but amazingly people still won’t be required to prove they are legal citizens if stopped by law enforcement, because THAT would be politically incorrect and unconstitutional according to some in the same administration.

NOTE:
Some of the film is grainy. That could possibly be due to the fact that there is some activity that the general public is not allowed be privy to. Please keep in mind that the enemies of our nation spend a lot of their time studying everything they can get their hands on to learn about our tactics, to try and get the upper hand against American forces.
By the looks of the footage, the intel was solid, and it was the perfect time to 'rock the casbah'.
Note:
The not so politically correct Clash song 'Rock the Casbah' was the first rock song played in Iran in the ten year period after the Shah of Iran was thrown out. The song was played on the American Army radio and became a kind of anthem for the Army during the first Gulf War.

It makes me sad that the same types of people have succeeded in disarming good British citizens, as well as promoting a toxic form of political correctness that has virtually ruined their nation. Rep Giffords Shot in Head by Tea Partier...
No wait...I am sorry...that is the falsehood that the main stream media tried to spin initially. Here is the real story:
AZ SHOOTER: Left-Winger JARED LOUGHNER – He Likes Watching US Flags Burn & Favorite Book is Communist Manifesto
So much for that liberal media myth. They also reported that he was a war vet from the Afghanistan conflict...he wasn't, and now the real vets are demanding an apology. Can the main stream media get anything correct these days? Here is another possible angle for the attack:
Hitler Lover Loughner Targeted First Jewish Congresswoman from Arizona, Gabrielle Giffords
Of course, the brady bunch wasted no time chasing the ambulances.
Too bad the Brady Campaign couldn't come up with a PSA like this one. Keeping with the style of their press releases, it wouldn't be factual, but at least it would be entertaining.

Gun Free Zones, Malls, and the Myth of ‘Security’
I was in a mall today that had the rules posted at every entrance. If you read them, you were informed that knives, clubs, guns, and any other weapon used for personal self defense were verboten. So let me ask the readers this. If there happened to be a critical incident where an armed assailant of the terrorist variety decided that they were going to spray down the patrons with an AK-47, what would be the first line of security? There were a number of mall cops (unarmed) riding around on Segways, but they are no more than the mall version of security theater, as they would be of little use in defending anyone. Keep in mind that an AK-47 has a rate of fire up to 600 rounds per minute as demonstrated here. That means that a crazed terrorist hypothetically has the potential empty 20 mags with ease in one minute’s time, although the gun would be smokin' hot. You are probably thinking wow…that is a lot of ammo, so what could the mall cops do then? Well, since they are not armed, I would assume that they would take cover and summon the local law enforcement. They would probably arrive within four minutes, but by that time, a single shooter could have hypothetically fired 2400 rounds or 80 mags worth of ammo. Now if you multiply the number of assailants with weapons, you can see how tragic this situation could be if no one shuts the shooter(s) down before he/she/they get rolling. Okay, so the local law enforcement now arrives after a minimum of 2400 rounds have been discharged, but of course now they will need to assess the situation and formulate a plan. The SWAT teams will have also received a call out, but by this time some major carnage has already occurred, not just because a lot of people could be shot, but when the shooting begins people start to stampede like cattle and some people may be trampled and could die as well. So I ask you, what has happened to America? Americans can be vetted to a level where it is verified by their state of residence and also with a federal background check that they are competent to carry a concealed firearm, but that level of responsibility is now no longer valid once they walk through the doors of the mall. I think that it is time that people who possess concealed carry permits go on record with their discontent about this situation, and contact their local mall and ask them politely who is responsible for the safety of them and their families in the event that there ever is a critical incident such as the one detailed above. It might even be prudent to inform them on record, that if they are going to knowingly restrict you from being able to defend you and your family, that they may be putting you in a position where you might have to hold them responsible if you or your family are harmed while shopping in their mall. I am curious as to what their (lawyers) response would be. If any of the readers decide to pose this question, please be polite, and let me know the response. If I can get some time, I may go back down there and pose the question my self in person.

Thomas Jefferson Was So on Point
Some pertinent quotes from Mr Jefferson:
When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe.
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

The Hypocrite in Chief Says What?
You know what this reminds me of? I once spoke with a person who grew up in the east bloc under the communist system. It was recounted to me how while the citizens were standing on bread lines, the elites were shopping in private supermarkets stocked with caviar and champagne while acting like they were all comrades. The first family's whole "let them eat cake" attitude is wearing a little thin on the American public these days it seems.

Is This What Americans Have to Look Forward to in the Future?
This happened recently in Australia:
Halal KFC: Middle finger-lickin' good - KFC Muslim Worker Screams Insults at Bacon Eaters
Bacon is probably not the most healthy thing to eat, but that guy needs to chill out, because that is what freedom to choose what one wants to eat is all about.

Some of You May Have Been Wondering...
...why I haven't been posting much lately. The reason is that I have been traveling a lot as of the last few weeks. As many of the readers know, I sometimes work in different areas of the country, and when I get a break, I try to return to Florida because that is my home. The position that I have been working in for the last four months is winding down sadly, and I am in the process of regrouping for the next big adventure. The employment in Florida is currently rather bleak for many, and sadly there are a lot of homes in foreclosure. I saw a banner sporting the Obama logo hanging at a nearly empty strip mall the other day that read "Change...So Far it Sucks". I admit, that I had to laugh, but it is so very true. I spent some of my time in Florida talking with some people who have lost their defense related jobs, in order to gather information for a series of mini articles that I am currently working on that will discuss the apparent demise of the F-35 project, and it's affect on an already economically badly beaten Florida. Now it looks like the space shuttle project also may be dead in April of 2011. The other night I watched an old pseudo documentary done by that donut eatin douchebag of a doughboy Michael Moore titled 'Fahrenheit 911', where he spent way too much time whining about George Bush's vacations before 911. It is amazing to me that after all of the editing that Moore did to try and prove his point and create a bias, the movie ended up being about as factual as some cheesy news stand tabloid. I wonder where Moore's voice of concern is now, and I am also wondering how Moore and his presidential choice aka 'the vacationer in chief' feels about all of this, or if his boy Obama even cares.
Test Your Knowledge
I believe that the readers are fairly well informed, so I thought I would post the following so that you might measure your understanding in a certain area:
This is a terrific and incredibly easy test. And it shows results in a number of ways. It clearly indicates that the majority of Americans don't have a clue about what's going on in the world. No wonder our politicians take such advantage of us. It's astonishing that so many people got less than half right. These results say that 80% of the (voting) public doesn't have a clue, and that's pretty scary.
There are no tricks here - just a simple quiz to see if you are current on your information. This is quite good and the results can be shocking.
I believe it was Winston Churchill who opined that " . . . the best argument against democracy is a 5-minute conversation with the average voter . . ."
Test your knowledge with 12 questions, then be ready to shudder when you see how others did!
