If a Robber Enters Your Store With a Gun...

assume that he is there to kill you.

What store clerks have been taught, is that if a robber comes into your store with a gun, give them what they want and you will probably not be harmed. That may have been true at one time, but not anymore. With the gang density increasing in central Florida, they will rob you at gunpoint and then shoot you as part of their initiation, or just to get rep on the streets. A pharmacy owner in Oklahoma was recently charged with murder, because it is alleged that he used excessive force to stop a robbery. Although I might have handled the situation differently, it is hard to observe rules of engagement when the armed criminals have none. The public outcry was because the robber who was shot and killed was 16 years old. Anyone who is familiar firearms, understands that it doesn't matter what age the shooter is, when he discharges the weapon, there is a good chance that you could be dead. If a minor attempts a robbery using a handgun, they need to know that they are putting their life on the line to do so, and many of the shooters that are arrested these days are minors. Now take a look at this article. It appears that the moms are training their children at an early age here in Central Florida to be thieves. It should be noted, that when people steal form a store, in the end it raises the prices of the merchandise, which means they are stealing from us as well.
