“Mighty Mike” Chitwood…Standoff Negotiator…

I like this guy Mike Chitwood. A few weeks ago he chased down a crime suspect on foot when he was off duty heading for the gym, and then this week he negotiates with a man suspected of armed felony bank robbery who has been on a multi county crime spree. It appears that Chief Chitwood knew the father of the assailant, and realized the seriousness of the crack cocaine addiction that was driving the suspect to commit crimes, and so he decided to talk the suspect out of this barricaded situation instead of sending in the SWAT guys. There is a certain sense of fairness demonstrated by this guy that is refreshing. Check out the story and see what you think. Be sure to watch the video.
