What's Twenty Seven Years of Your Life Between Friends?

Man Wrongfully Jailed Won't Be Compensated= Dillon Spent 27 Years In Jail For Murder

quote:
According to Florida's Wrongful Incarceration Act, a person must have "clean hands" before they went to jail or they don't qualify for the money. When Dillon was 19 years old he pleaded guilty to drunken driving and possession of a controlled substance in Seminole County. He served three years of probation and paid a $150 fine. That conviction bars him from compensation by the state for the 27 years he served in jail on a wrongful murder conviction.

So let me get this right. The banking crooks can write themselves millions in bonuses of taxpayers money for destroying a corporation, but this man can not get compensated for false imprisonment that took 27 years of his life? If you need "clean hands" to get this compensation, then I guess that would also rule out judges, lawyers, politicians, and most corporate executives. So I ask, where the hell is the ACLU now? Where is Oprah now? Why isn't someone shining the spotlight on this absurdity?
