No MJ Tickets for Floridians

Floridians Barred From Michael Jackson Ticket Lottery

quote:
Florida residents who logged on to the web site for the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where the event is being held, read a notice that they weren't eligible for the drawing.

I am sure the readers know how much sleep Gun Shy is going to lose over this. Gun Shy doesn’t believe in worshiping at the altar of dead pop stars, and especially in light of the all the sordid accusations. It is amazing to me that America is so transfixed on this while the economy is sliding into the abyss.

Read this and shake your head, and then read this and this.

Michael Bane discussed this earlier on his blog.

Now here is some REAL news:

Jackson Service To Bump Local 6 Soaps - CBS Shows Will Be Broadcast At Later Time

Local 6 will air live CBS coverage of the Michael Jackson memorial service from Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon, which will affect regular programming. The service, which will be held at the Staples Center at about 1 p.m., will last about 90 minutes, impacting "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "As the World Turns."

It appears that entertainment is the new opiate of the masses.
