I Have a Solution For the New York City Homeless Dilema

Well, actually a reader came up with the initial concept which I will attempt to embellish. It is a well known fact that many wealthy New Yorkers have winter homes here in Florida. If you don't believe me, the next time you hear someone rudely honking a horn in traffic in any beach town, take a look at the tag, and it is probably from New York. There is an old expression about Florida, which is "The further North you go in Florida, the further South you are". That is because New Yorkers (and other Northerners) have moved in and taken over much of South and Central Florida.

Now here is my twist on a readers proposal. Since many wealthy New Yorkers (including Mayor Bloomberg) possibly have winter homes here in Florida, instead of just giving these homeless people a plane ticket to Florida (to get them out of New York) why not give them a home? These politicians could let them stay in their winter houses that they are paying expenses on, that are vacant most of the year anyway. Since many of these politicians have a socialist slant anyway, wouldn't this action be viewed as good for the collective by their fellow liberals?

Hat Tip to the ever brilliant Steve-o for the concept
