Orlando' s Sister City... Kabul Afghanistan

Beary Trains Police In Middle East - Former Sheriff Training Officers In Anti-Terrorism

quote:
Former Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary is in the Middle East training local police to defend their streets from pro-Taliban forces. The streets of Kabul, Afghanistan are riddled by violence and political unrest. "These folks have been just slammed for the last 60 years with violence," Beary said. The job puts Beary at risk every day. "Over here I like to call it 'executive tactical.' I show up in a coat and tie. I wear an entry vest and carry some weapons, but you just need to be aware of your surroundings, just like when I rode on Friday nights in Orlando, Florida," Beary said.

Did the readers catch that? Mr Beary just compared O-Town to Afghanistan as far as the needed precautionary measures to keep one safe while on the streets. Finally I have someone who agrees with me about the condition of some areas of O-Town. We have the former Sheriff of Orange County, who is well aware of the conditions in the greater Orlando area comparing our region to Afghanistan, which is a war torn, terrorist breeding, third world nation. As news reports and crime statistics clearly demonstrate, there are parts of Orlando that do resemble that. That is something you would never hear our man “Buddy” admitting publicly about "the hospitality capital of the world". Gun Shy wishes former Sheriff Beary all the best in his new profession, and thanks him for the reality check.
