Gun Shy has made a decision to take a month or so off from blogging, and hit the beach a little more, and hang out with some of the ones I love. This will also give me a little time away to contemplate what I will be doing in my next thirty years…God willing.
I hope this is not an inconvenience to the readers, because I truly appreciate you all, as well as all of the articles and comments that you send my way, which gives me material to review and comment on. Yeah Allen...they did it. But here is what I love about this guy as a candidate. He could use the democratic approach for nearly everything these days, and call them racists, but instead, he chose to take the high road. Here is another thing I like about this fine honorable black American:
As WND reported, West was introduced to the nation in 2003 when he faced criminal charges for using shock interrogation tactics to protect his soldiers in Iraq. As WND reported in 2003, West was threatened with court-martial for tactics he used to flush out information from an uncooperative Iraqi policeman. Threatening to kill the Iraqi if he didn't talk, West fired a pistol near the policeman's head, producing an immediate flood of information that purportedly led to the arrest of two insurgents and cessation of attacks on West's 4th Infantry Division battalion. Army prosecutors charged West with aggravated assault, and he faced the possibility of up to eight years in prison. At a hearing, West was asked by his defense attorney if he would do it again.
West responded, "If it's about the lives of my soldiers at stake, I'd go through hell with a gasoline can."
Now THAT is Army Strong!

If the same sheriff passed you in traffic and you were working on your laptop while driving would they pull you over? There should be no double standard, as it is a dangerous practice no matter who is doing it. The sheriff's supervisor needs to tear up that ticket and have a discussion with the officer. One does not magically become super human when they become an LE officer, and being distracted by a computer could get an innocent citizen injured or killed.

OIA Surveillance Cameras Don't Cover Garage

It has to do with legality. I grew up in a country of laws. I have disagreed with some of those laws, but I have followed them. Let's be legal."
Jane Inden, 68, a retired travel agent from North Fort Myers, spoke about how her husband had to flee Hungary after he joined in an unsuccessful uprising against the communist government there in 1956.
"He came here, but he did it legally," says Inden, who donated $25. "I want people to follow the law. I ask my friends, 'If those people don't follow the law, why should I?'
"I don't understand why this president is going after Gov. Brewer. I'm very proud of her and very unhappy with him. Why isn't he going after people who aren't following the law?"

I have some advice for the parents. SUE THE TSA AND KEEP THIS IN THE PUBLIC EYE DAILY UNTIL IT IS RESOLVED ONCE AND FOR ALL. DO YOU KNOW WHO IS LOOKING AT YOUR NAKED CHILD IN THE MONITORING ROOM??
When you are told that the TSA screens it's employees thoroughly and that you should not worry, remember THIS ...oh...and THIS....oh....and that they are TRAINED PROFESSIONALS....and also THIS but most of all DON'T FORGET THIS.

In the early 1960’s, they had little school children doing duck and cover drills, where they herded them to the basement of the school building, pretending that it could be a nuclear attack, and had them hide under desks away from windows. From a psychological perspective, this is a drill that could create lasting stress in a small child. Well, those children are now in their late fifties and earlier sixties, and they have never experienced the nuclear war that they were made to fear for a good number of years.
One thing that I have learned over the years. That if the powers to be can create a boogey man, people will give up their possessions as well as there freedom in exchange for a sense of security, even if it is false. As an example, take a look at the security theater that goes on in our airports, and in the end who stops the bombing attempts? The pro active citizens do.
Attempted terror attacks in the streets of New York? The pro active citizens do.
And now, take a look at who is attempting to secure the borders because this administration refuses to. More ordinary citizens with the will to fight, who have had enough. While the powers to be are creating fear, ordinary Americans are creating action. Now watch this video interview with Aaron Russo and see what you think. Is it conspiracy theory?

It's Heating Up in Arizona...

We are now on The Border but we have to make something known to all of you. There are murdering scum oozing across our southern borders, armed, with ill intent. So what is their ill intent? They are coming across our southern border to set up a broad based coverage to sell their drugs, their prostitutes, their weapons. I call that ill intent. I call that Reconquista which we can turn that around and make it Conquista, Part 2. They need to be defeated. This is why Governor Brewer signed HB 1070 into law and this is why the current Disadministration is suing and not going after the unconstitutional sanctuary cities.
We can talk the talk but very few can walk the walk. Someone has to carry the burden down here on the Arizona Border and we aren’t “in the news” except for the morons in our media that declare we are hating on the Brown People, whoever they are.
We are at The Border to discover just what makes the Narco-Terrorists/Insurgents and the Illegal Invasionistas tick. Why are they here? Who wants them to come here? Where are the videos in the news rooms? Where are the pictures from the raped women that these thugs bring to our Nation to leave them behind dead as they take the money they were given by these women?
Is it because the American People have been taught to not see the light? Have the American People grown stupid?
We will be investigating if the Narco-Terrorists/Insurgents are paying off or threatening any law enforcment officers, officers of the court, or politicians to allow them to operate on in US cities. You think this could not be so? Then why are Sheriffs being shot and threatened? If this is just about immigration, and not about organized criminal gangs running a de-facto insurgency in order to control law enforcemtent, the judiciary, and the government, then just why did the Mexican Mafia put a hit out on the Sheriff of Pinal County? Does anyone in the Feds know? What do they know? Why are they not telling you? Why are Mexican Federalis on the worng side of the border?

The federal lawsuit comes only two weeks after the U.S. Supreme Court interpreted the Second Amendment to provide to every individual in the U.S. the right to "keep and bear arms."
It's already the second lawsuit filed by the SAF since that precedent: An earlier case challenged a practice in North Carolina of banning guns during "emergencies."
The New York case, filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, White Plains Division, seeks a permanent injunction against enforcement of a state law that allows carry licenses to be denied applicants based on whether they can show "good cause."
Kachalsky's denial was because he could not "demonstrate a need for self protection distinguishable from that of the general public." Nikolov's was denied because she could not demonstrate that there was "any type of threat to her own safety anywhere."
In addition to Westchester County, Susan Cacace and Jeffrey Cohen, both serving at times as handgun permit licensing officers, are named as defendants.
Attorney Alan Gura, who recently represented SAF in its landmark Second Amendment case before the U.S. Supreme Court, is working on the case.
It explains under New York law handgun carry permit applicants must "demonstrate good cause for the issuance of a permit."
But that violates the Second Amendment, the case states.
"American citizens like Alan Kachalsky and Christina Nikolov should not have to demonstrate good cause in order to exercise a constitutionally-protected civil right," noted SAF Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb. "Our civil rights, including the right to keep and bear arms, should not be subject to the whims of a local government or its employees, just because they don't think someone needs a carry permit. Nobody advocates arming criminals or mental defectives, but honest citizens with clean records should not be denied out of hand.
"Thanks to our recent victory before the Supreme Court," Gottlieb stated, "the Second Amendment now applies to state and local governments. Our lawsuit is a reminder to state and local bureaucrats that we have a Bill of Rights in this country, not a Bill of Needs."
I think it is time for gun owners to stop sending their money to the compromising NRA, and instead send it to the Second Amendment Foundation who is getting it done on a regular basis these days.

Gun Shy Goes to the Movies...
...well...not really...and I am not a film critic by any means...but...
I watched this movie last night titled "Brothers at War". It is an up close documentary about two brothers from a family who are Airborne and deployed in Iraq, and their older brother, who had aspirations to go to West Point but failed to make entry, who decides to make a documentary about his two brothers and their lives in the military. He is allowed to travel in Iraq with one of the brothers and experience various aspects of operations, and in turn gains a much greater appreciation of the sacrifice that his brothers and their associates are making for their country. In return, his two brothers gain a greater respect for him, because he cared enough about them to experience the oftentimes grueling nature of their daily lives as witnessed through the eye of his camera. The thing that I like most about the film, is that it shows the human aspect of soldiering, an aspect that many might not fully grasp by watching the typical standard media presentations. You get to meet the whole family in the documentary, which helps you realize the environment that the brothers grew up in that shaped them into such great young men. I enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. I think I may watch it again tonight.

While such cases of mistaken identity at border points and airports are not unique, Nelson's case is unusual in that only some of her crossings set off an alarm and because federal officials have not fixed the problem after almost two years.

Sometimes the timing of life is so ironic. This evening, I stopped into my very first TEA party meeting to see what it was all about. What prompted me to go, was the other day I was driving down route 27 in Clermont Florida, a town that is not far from Orlando, and in the heat of the day (which was nearing the hundred degree mark) there was a group of TEA party people by the side of the highway waving Gadsten Flags with an American Flag, and holding a sign that said "Honk if You Love America". Everyone was waving and blowing horns as they passed, and there was more activity and excitement that day than there was when Joe Biden visited...er...briefly stopped in to do his photo op here. I figured if these people were dedicated enough to stand out there in the scorching heat for hours on end, then Gun Shy should stop in and see what their gathering is all about. And now for the irony. The first couple I saw as I was getting ready to enter the gathering was.....yep...you guessed it...a black couple. Oh, and before I forget, the gathering was being held in a building that was part of a church that was holding a black urban gospel type of service across the parking lot that had many black people there as well. I didn't see any klansmen with hoods anywhere. Maybe the NAACP needs to look somewhere else if they want to find racial hatred. So much for the myth.

Organizers said they turned the event into a cleanup to demonstrate that they are contributing to the community.
"Just because somebody is carrying a gun doesn't mean that they're a criminal," said Scott Brownlie, a 25-year-old firefighter who stood outside Peet's Coffee & Tea with an unloaded Colt M-4 Carbine slung across his back. "If a lot of people were allowed to carry more … there would be a lot less crime."
Most people walked by the group without a second glance. A police spokesman said the department received no complaints about the event.
Open Carry has drawn criticism from gun control groups that say police, not untrained gun owners, should be protecting the public.
Similar Open Carry gatherings have taken place in recent years in San Francisco and San Diego.
A bill by Assemblywoman Lori Saldaña (D-San Diego) would, with some exceptions, prohibit civilians from openly carrying handguns. The legislation, which was approved by the Assembly but still needs to pass the Senate, has won backing from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the California Police Chiefs Assn.
Suzanne Verge, president of the Los Angeles chapter of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, described Saturday's event as a "public relations stunt."
Actually Suzanne, it is not a "public relations stunt", but a "constitutional exercise stunt."
California people are tired of the gun anal stupidity and are pushing back. I say high five for keeping the pioneer spirit alive. And to all my gun buddies in Cali...go buy some ammo and celebrate.

The Spirit of Working America
I was out on a little regional road trip the other day, and I came across some roadside stands as you often do in rural Florida. As I was getting closer to the stand, there were signs by the side of the road every 500 feet that read...SPICY BOILED PEANUTS......GATOR JERKY......LOCAL HONNY. Well as the readers can see, the person who wrote the sign spelled honey wrong. This got Gun Shy to thinkin', and here is my conclusion. The person running the stand might not have the best education, but they dang sure know how to get up early in the morning, and work all day out in 95 degree heat to make an honest living to support their families, while others complain about having to sit in an air conditioned welfare office to sign up for a check. To me, these people represent the True American Spirit, and Gun Shy has high regards for them. I would love to see those pampered whiners in the congress, senate, and white house who don't show up half the time to do their jobs and sign bills that they didn't even take the time to read into law while getting astronomical salaries, be given the task of operating a roadside stand with all of their mighty "education" and experience. These government officials are the real welfare recipients in my opinion, and they wouldn't last an hour if they had to work hard as these people do. A while back I stopped at a stand that was owned by a Vietnam Veteran. We started talking and he pulled some of his pictures while in country. I had a great time conversing with him, and of course, spent some money on his wares. People like this, who work hard to make their own way and ask nothing from the system make me proud to be an American. Gun Shy salutes all of the hard working Americans who set up roadside stands which help to keep a little part of Americana alive.
Went to a Gun Show....No One Died
The title says it all, much to the dismay of the Brady Campaign. According to the Brady Bunch, guns are the cause of all violence, and if we could just eliminate them all, the world would be a beautiful place full of butterfly kisses, rainbows, and unicorns. Well, there were thousands of people there, some with AK-47's and AR 15's slung over their shoulder, and thousands of guns with millions of rounds of ammo available, and contrary to popular Brady belief, the aisles were not full of blood, and not one single person was shot, not even a negligent discharge. My conclusion after being there and seeing the thousands of guns in the Melbourne Auditorium, is that the guns on display there must have all been defective according to the Brady fantasy standards. (gun shy smirks)

Chitwood says the name slanging isn't the real issue here, he says parents need to take responsibility and isn't taking back what he said. "If you want to split hairs over the gang issue, that's fine. You're still a gun touting, drug dealing thug."
Whether these suspects are gang members or not, Chitwood says the crimes they are being charged with are not changing.

The experiment was conducted in 1971 by a team of researchers led by Psychology Professor Philip Zimbardo at Stanford University. Twenty-four undergraduates were selected out of 70 to play the roles of both guards and prisoners and live in a mock prison in the basement of the Stanford psychology building. Those selected were chosen for their lack of psychological issues, crime history, and medical disabilities, in order to obtain a representative sample. Roles were assigned based on a coin toss.
Prisoners and guards rapidly adapted to their roles, stepping beyond the boundaries of what had been predicted and leading to dangerous and psychologically damaging situations. One-third of the guards were judged to have exhibited “genuine” sadistic tendencies, while many prisoners were emotionally traumatized and two had to be removed from the experiment early. After a graduate student (prisoner #819) broke down from the inhumane conditions in the prison, and realizing that he had been passively allowing unethical acts to be performed under his direct supervision, Zimbardo concluded that both prisoners and guards had become too grossly absorbed in their roles and terminated the experiment after six days.
Milgram, Stanley, 1974 book, Obedience to Authority: An Experimental View. Milgram described experiments conducted at Yale University in 1961after the start of the trial of German Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann in Jerusalem. Milgram devised his psychological study to answer the question: "Was it that Eichmann and his accomplices in the Holocaust had mutual intent, in at least with regard to the goals of the Holocaust?" In other words, "Was there a mutual sense of morality among those involved?" Milgram's testing suggested that it could have been that the millions of accomplices were merely following orders, despite violating their deepest moral beliefs. He set up an experiment and showed that most ordinary people can become accomplices in killing totally innocent individuals.
Tom Peters and Robert H. Waterman Jr wrote in 1981 that the Milgram experiment and the Stanford prison experiment were frightening in their implications about the danger which lurks in the darker side of human nature.
